02/21/2011: "Cyclone beach changes"

Tropical Cyclone Yasi did not bring very many positives to the Queensland coast but it did change the beach at our house in Holloways. By sucking the sand out it flattend and hardened the beach. That meant that the settled trades we have been getting for the past week have made ideal conditions for using Estelle's racing blokarts. Catherine and Gavin spent many hours tearing along the beach from Reichters Creek to the stinger nets. When the wind was over 15 knots these land yachts absolutely fly. Baden had the honour of being the first to capsize - but he has been flying a hull (wheel) purposely for many seconds.
