Manta2 (45k image)

Hi it's Estelle this time. The Manta Rays were amazing!!! They were at least 3 meters wide and and I got at least a meter away from one. Baden and Tom had a big Ray following them for a while, before it got bored and dived down deeper. It was to deep for the yachts to anchor in and the visibility wasn't the best, but it was tonnes of fun trying to get above the Manta Rays so we could drift down to them carried by the strong current. There was always someone in the dingy pointing out to the people snorkeling, where the Rays were. These giant Bats of the Ocean would give away their position by flaping the corner of their wings or showing there backs. The underbellys were a bright white that you could normaly see under water before you saw the rest of the Ray. They looked so menacing, but they were incredibly gracefull underwater. The Manta Rays would show surprising bursts of speed if any of us got too close.
