08/08/2007: "Fletchers' Seastar"
Fletcher espied this giant seastar – the biggest we had ever seen in this variety – in a lagoon that dripped vines down the crater walls. The island was like ‘the land that time forgot’. We are getting gamer in where we take Chaotic Harmony. We have few qualms now at crossing reefs as long as we know the tide, have eyes on the bows, the forward facing underwater sonar running and the engines ticking over so that progress is gradual and controlled. We know from experience that we can pass over water that is just over a metre deep safely. This has opened up many anchorages that are uncharted and unexplored.
