07/04/2007: "Food for ten"
Sailing into Nabuvatu, hit by a squall, a reef straight ahead and a limetone cliff to starboard this Giant Trevellay sent the reel smokin' . It took Catherine balancing the helm, Estelle winding, Gaving hauling, Fletcher holding the rum and Baden doing a running commentary to get the fish aboard. Gavin has his birthday coming up and Catherine decided he needed one of his presents early - scales to weigh the catch! At 21kg this fish is the biggest Trevellay we have ever caught. In a future blog we will tell our secret (it is a magic lure). We took a fillet and the crew then hiked the 273 steps and hill to the village to present the rest of the fish to our lovely hosts.
